Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy is a locally or regionally delivered treatment that uses electric fields within the human body that  are inferred to  disrupt the rapid cell division exhibited by cancer cells. NovoTTF therapy was developed to provide physicians and patients with a fourth treatment option for cancer in addition to surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. 

TTFields therapy is delivered using non-invasive, insulated transducer arrays that are placed directly on the skin in the region surrounding the tumor.
